Future Transformation has been selected as one of 10 innovators joining Connected Places Catapult’s Rail Growth Support Programme, recognising our work exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help address key challenges across the UK rail industry.
We’re delighted to share that we’ve been selected to join the Rail Growth Support Programme, delivered by Connected Places Catapult in partnership with Network Rail and supported by Innovate UK.
Announced on 9 October 2026, the programme brings together 10 innovators developing solutions to some of the rail sector’s biggest challenges, from passenger accessibility and safety to reliability and infrastructure resilience.
Using AI to improve railway stations
At Future Transformation, we are developing AI station intelligence to help rail operators better understand passenger flow, identify accessibility barriers and recognise potential safety risks within station environments.
By exploring how AI can support a better understanding of station environments, our innovation aims to contribute to railway stations that are safer, more accessible and more responsive to passengers’ needs.
As the rail industry continues to evolve, we believe that responsible innovation and emerging technologies can play an important role in addressing operational challenges and improving the passenger experience.
Supporting innovation in the rail industry
Through the Rail Growth Support Programme, we will receive tailored business support from Connected Places Catapult, alongside opportunities to engage with rail industry experts, gain sector insights, build stakeholder connections and explore potential trials.
This support will help us better understand the needs of the rail sector and explore how our solution could progress towards real-world application.
Being selected alongside nine other innovators is an exciting opportunity for Future Transformation to contribute to the future of rail and continue developing our approach to AI-driven innovation.
