Tech Education
Tech Education
With a tricky economic outlook tech education is critical for all people and especially young people. History shows that school leavers are usually hardest hit following a recession in terms of financial health. Many suffer longer spells of unemployment, and slower pay rises, than people with degrees. For example, unemployment among students with GCSE-level qualifications peaked at 32.3% in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
One way young people can ride out financial crises is to stay in school or further education. For example, the number of 21 to 23-year-olds in further education rose by 7% between 2008 and 2009. Our belief and role is to line up education with the skills, knowledge and qualifications employers are looking for, in Bradford we do this in many different ways with the most effective being collaborative working and initiatives like Bradford Tech Week.
