We are proud to announce that our CEO, Tim Rogers, has been elected as the new Chair of the inaugural Keighley Town Board. This board, established by Bradford Council, plays a key role in implementing the Government’s Levelling Up agenda.
In 2021, Keighley received £33.6 million through the Towns Fund for its Town Investment Plan, and it has recently been allocated an additional £20 million for a Long Term Plan. The Keighley Town Board, comprising representatives from local businesses and charitable organisations with support from Bradford Council, is tasked with delivering these plans.
Tim Rogers, CEO of Future Transformation, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. A native of Keighley, Tim is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and addressing climate change. He is a fellow of the University of Bradford, chairs the Digital Makers Operational Board, and serves on various STEM-focused boards in the region. Additionally, Tim advises on policy and skills provision as a member of the DSIT Cyber Security Board.
Reflecting on his new role, Tim said, “Keighley boasts some of the district’s most significant cultural assets, including the Worth Valley Railway, the Brontë heritage, and historic sites like Cliffe Castle. My vision is to leverage this multi-million pound investment to create a thriving environment for private sector investment, unlocking Keighley’s potential in terms of its economy, skills, heritage, creativity, and transport.”
Tim emphasized the importance of community collaboration, stating, “We need to work together in a truly collaborative way. I want to hear from everyone in Keighley’s communities, including businesses, schools, and colleges, about their aspirations for the future. This is our opportunity to shape Keighley’s future over the next decade and beyond.”
Tim will oversee several pivotal projects, including the Providence Park development, the Community Grants programme, the Town Centre Infrastructure project, and the Capital Assistance to Business Growth grants.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Transport, and Planning, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Tim as chair of the Keighley Town Board. His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to develop Keighley’s vision. The significant investment in the town promises to be transformative.”
We are excited about the future of Keighley under Tim’s leadership and look forward to the positive changes and developments ahead.
